Frequently Asked Questions

  • Fine line tattoos conserve the fine aspect over time because they are done with different tones of grey, decreasing the risk of expansion. Due to the thin diameter needles there is no need to apply a lot of pressure, meaning that the ink will stay on the top layers of the skin.

  • The parts closest to the bones where the skin is thinnest, generally hurt the most. For example, the ribs, ankles, back, bottom, inner wrist and the back part of the knee.

Nevertheless, the amount of pain you experience depends on your pain threshold and general condition.

Lack of sleep, food and alcohol consumption before a tattoo can make you more susceptible to pain.

  • Finger and hand tattoos take longer to heal. For them to heal well, it is important to keep the surface as clean and dry as possible after the tattoo.

I prefer to do this type of tattoos with the handpoke technique and use the darkest grey instead of black, which prevents the tattoo from expanding.

  • Tattoos change together with your body. Changes in weight do not affect the appearance of the tattoo. You can get pregnant, gain muscle mass, or lose or gain weight without affecting it. As you get older, your skin ages and so does the tattoo. It's a natural process and should not stop you from getting tattooed. Live in the present, accept your changing body and do what makes you happy!

  • With the new types of waterproof patches a tattoo heals in a shorter amount of time than before. After 3 days the tattoo is already in its cicatrisation stage and can be protected from the sun with sun screen.

Fine line tattoos in particular rarely develop crusts, letting you enjoy the summer and the beautiful weather with the usual protection methods.

  • You can get a tattoo while breastfeeding since the ink stays on the top layer of the skin. Nevertheless, if you wish to tattoo the parts used for breastfeeding you should wait a few days before nursing again.

This is not be taken as medical advice. Make sure to contact your doctor for further clarifications.

  • It depends. I personally use 3 needles with the smallest diameter. These are the equivalent to a single needle with a thick diameter but more precise and accurate due to the higher skin resistance. This allows me to better control my lines and makes the tattoo heal nicer. Moreover I use a single needle for small details and finally 12 magnum flat needles for covering large surfaces and blending a soft edge magnum.

  • Yes! In the tattoo community there is an unwritten rule stating that tattooists do not "steal" each other's designs but rather create their own one even if clients come with a design from another artist.

Each individual wants to have a unique tattoo, nobody want to see the design an artist has created especially for them on another person. Respect them, the artist & yourself.

And always remember: Inspiration is free, original designs are not.
